Veterinary Eye Assessment Across Species and Settings

The Lumio Vet is a portable veterinary eye examination device designed to support accurate fluorescein‑based ocular surface and tear film assessment in animal patients. Suitable for use in veterinary clinics, ambulatory practice, and field environments, Lumio delivers white and blue light illumination to aid clear visualisation of the ocular surface across a wide range of species—from companion animals to large livestock.
Compact, robust, and easy to use, Lumio supports reliable animal eye diagnostics wherever veterinary care is provided.

The compact design means the Lumio is able to be used in a variety of examination locations to view the following details:

 

Under White Light

  • General inspection of corneal clarity, conjunctival redness, iris abnormalities, anterior chamber changes.

  • Identification of foreign bodies, pigmentary changes, neovascularization.

  • Assessment of eyelid and lash abnormalities.

 

Under Blue Light with Fluorescein Filter

  • Corneal ulcers and abrasions: Fluorescein dye pools in areas of epithelial loss.

  • Tear film breakup time (TFBUT): Used in diagnosing dry eye (KCS).

  • Detection of corneal sequestra (in cats): Fluorescein outlines the lesion’s edge.

  • Post-operative monitoring: Checking healing post corneal surgery.
